This review is from me being a Filipino American taking a quick vacay from the main vacay. The personal experience is based on a "red-apple 2 green-apple" comparison to a hotel in the U.S. taking into account location, amenities, and overall value that would address my personal family needs. I balanced the necessity of comfort after a day at the beach & local open-air mall to that being frugal and sacrificing the chance of a good night's rest in addition to accessibility to the beaches as well as the local vendors. I wanted a place where at the end of the day, my family & I could rest ourselves - no unnecessary pampering or staff waiting on my "beck 'n call". The hotel is a two-minute walk, hidden in an alleyway from the main morning market area; from the hotel to the beach is about the same. The staff was wonderful, to begin with. We were greeted with genuine smiles. Check-in was easy and as I expected; they made sure they gave a "welcome to our home" - not motel - feeling. Our room was the family room suite that included a full-size bed and bunkbed. They were comfortable to relax on while checking out local & cable channels on the television. The room was cooled with a/c when we arrived. Towels were set-up as origami swans on the beds along with two full-size pillows per person and clean bedding. The room included a fridge, safe, and closet with hangers. The room was spacious. The bathroom included a water heating unit to have a warm shower. Usual amenities included soap, drinking glasses & the always coveted extra roll of toilet paper. They have wi-fi. Breakfast is optional. I had not added it to the booking but I would recommend adding it as a convenience - traditional filipino breakfast was sarap (kuddos to the chef). There is a lobby on the ground floor & "loft" area on the second floor to hang out (we were on the 3rd floor).

Surprisingly, the room was very net and the amenities are well thought of. Considered everything guests may need there was no need to request. Facilities like aircon are clean and well maintained including shower heaters. Staffs were friendly and accomodating. Water thru dispensers for hot and cold are available on every floor for free for every floor as with wifi signals for on every area have great signal. Definitely good value for money with all the comfort thaat surprisingly doesnt cost much. Strategically located that it is walking distance from the beach and in the middle of the beach and market and near the main road for transport. The location was not noisy that you can get much needed rest when needed.

Great affordable price hotel in station 2. Hotel is close to D’Mall, just at the back, away from the hustle n bustle n noise of the people. however, there is loud construction noise from the building next door during the day, which did not matter since we were out whole day at the beach. if you like to chill during the day, might not be the best place. Better check with staff if still ongoing. Hotel staff are all very nice and friendly, especially with my kid. 😊Place kept really clean and tidy. overall, we enjoyed our stay there.

I can't fault the staff! They were warm and genuine kind hearted. Very helpful and patient as I had external situation. More so Charismatic and know how to make you feel welcome. I hope the owners of the hotel read this as they are worth their weight in gold! Also with regards to the rooms spacious, clean and icy cold with AC. For the price It's more than reasonable. I doubt I'll be in Boracay again, but if I was would definitely stay back at Isla Gecko.. Thanks again to the staff for their help and efforts!

The staff was helpful, but also wasn't all up in my business, which is just ideal. They let me check in way earlier, as I had already stayed in Boracay prior to my stay at Isla Gecko and was just changing hotels at that stage. During check-out, which I had to do very early, the guard was extremely helpful - it was raining quite hard that night, and not only did he lent me an umbrella on my way to the main road, he also went with me and carried my big luggage.
